Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

The Noble Peace Prize fallout may be amusing at first glance; however, I think it greatly increases the chances that Trump will seek violent regime change in Venezuela. In his mind the best way to prove them wrong will be to do what Marchado can’t do, and end the Maduro regime.

@sanders.senate.gov We need new leadership in the senate. Chuck Schumer must go. While his term won't be up for another few years, his position as minority leader isn't guaranteed. It's time to step up and challenge him in an open vote. If you believe in what you are saying then you need to act.
