Librarian, SCAdian, addicted to making things, opinionated.
I haven't laughed this hard in too long.
This wheel is to the boy squirrel the way that the football is to Charlie Brown and it still makes me laugh every time he tries to use it only to be immediately spun.

Just super happy with how my bathroom looks after a fresh coat of paint. Floor to ceiling beige was just too sad.

Extra benefit of not adding to the clutter when you return them!

*deep breath*

Okay. I am cranky on a lot of levels today, so.

But I got a comment on another platform that said, "you are going to save us in the future. Libraries and librarians are the backbone of society."

Let me tell you why I hated this seemingly innocuous comment.

This article was so good I read it twice. I hear a lot of the language of awe at my institution. "Librarians are our heroes" "I love the library so much!" (From our President who hasn't interacted with the library the entire time I've been here.) And yet, here we are, three people, two branches.

As we come to the end of the year it's a time of reflection. Of our victories. The promises we made to ourselves and whether we were able to follow through or if we fell short.

All that to say is I reached my goal of 300 unique beers on untapped so I'm good.

There is something about my custom chain maile lanyard I specifically got for PAX about 15 years ago that brings me so much joy

It's been a while since a book was so bad I didn't finish. Congrats Dan Brown, the dialogue in The Secret of Secrets reads like an alien learned human communication by watching 90s sitcoms. #booksky

Had to grab up this amazing vintage black velvet painting for what is becoming the unicorn room. My inner 9 year old is thrilled.

Holy crap. @jamieloftus.bsky.social's Ack Cast is fucking fantastic. It is well researched, engaging, and full of empathy. Seriously. Go listen now and then reflect on how you can be racialized to step off the self hatred train.

@lpontheleft.bsky.social "If you're still listening, you are damaged". We know Ed. You don't need to remind us.

I feel this so hard since running out of my brain meds. Breathe next to me. I dare you.

My birthday will be upon us soon and I have asked that my only present be not having to make any decisions about how we celebrate it. This feels like a step in the direction of joining the sisterhood of middle age women.

If you can go see Castle Rat, do it.

Claw back your attention span and read a damn book. Don't know what to read? Go ask a librarian.
I finished a book. The first of this year. In 2025 I took my pea sized, phone-rotted, attention spanless brain and finished a bloody book. I'm unstoppable.

One room to go only restaurants that look like this are a siren call to us.

That feeling when you grab the correct size socket on the first try.

Y'all, Texas is afraid of a tiddy. Terrified of a boob. Frightened by a breast. Next thing you know they are going to be banning any fried chicken that isn't a wing

Dear designers, the pay gap is bad enough. Can I at least get the last 1/4 of a sleeve you give to men? #fashion

If you did the whole 23andme thing it's time to delete your data and have them destroy your sample. Get it done before who knows who buys your genetic information.

Still waiting for the people who were screaming about her emails to make a peep about their slack group chat.

@iwriteok.bsky.social lol, probably zero chance that you will see this but my librarian brain had to chase down the factor 8 documentary. There are three libraries in the US that have it available for inter-library loan, one in California, if your local public library does that. (Most do)
