The irony of “would-be dictator goes to see Les Mis while sending troops to attack protestors” has convinced me we’re living in the first draft of a Screen Writing 101 student.
The thing about Brazilian Jiujitsu is that I never end up with injuries that sound impressive. It’s usually some variation of “I got thrown weird and bruised my tailbone” or today’s “I was getting out of a position and kneed myself in the thumb.”

Had a wonderful final Global Middle Ages class. I asked the students what a global perspective does for the field and they gave me insightful and thoughtful responses about disrupting traditional narratives and their own assumptions.
Wonderful to know that I haven’t been lecturing to deaf ears!
