The main reason climate policy has failed is that it's opposed by an international coalition of fossil fuel incumbents, authoritarian governments, & oligarch-owned media.

That's it. It's the people who killed it who are responsible for killing it! Not the people who supported it! FFS.

I do media analysis of immigration coverage as part of my job. The BBC is far from the worst, but lack of context for reasons people come to UK, language, repetition of falsehoods, especially without genuine pushback etc, has gotten worse, and is undoubtedly feeding the anti-immigration narrative.
There should be a high bar for politicians attacking the media, but maybe Ed Davey has half a point here?

For example, the first three paragraphs of this BBC story repeat Reform's £243bn figure without saying that the thinktank behind the estimate now disowns it. (This is mentioned in paragraph 35)

Does anyone here know of real policies that decrease inequality (other than taxing super rich)? What actually works? Has any country ever done it? What needs to happen to reduce extreme wealth and poverty? It feels like we’re forever tinkering around the edges. What is a whole systems approach?

Yes it has - so why stick to outdated counterproductive austerity agenda & arbitrary fiscal rules? You can’t cut your way to growth. Taxes on extreme wealth of super rich would be fairer & more effective than more cuts @patmillsuk.bsky.social

MTG’s latest conspiracy: Ukraine aid funds organ trafficking.

With zero evidence, Greene linked U.S. aid to Ukraine to a black market kidney trade. Her proof? A single criminal case from 2017 to 2019—before the war even started.

This isn’t foreign policy. It’s straight-up nonsense.
