Unlike you, I can read and that’s why I know what the constitution says.
Trump on Ilhan Omar: "I look at somebody who comes from Somalia...and she comes in and tells us how to run our country. 'The Constitution says this, the Constitution says that.' The whole thing is crazy."

on veteran's day, from a veteran, kind reminder that thanking a vet for their service is kind of weird and unnecessary to many of us. i can't speak for all vets, but i didn't serve for valor or pride or love of country. i did it because i grew up poor and couldn't afford to go to college.

Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

1118 days. We fought, we won. What else is there to say. 🫡
BREAKING: We won!

Today the 3rd Circuit Court ordered the @post-gazette.com to restore our contract it illegally tore up 5 years ago. That’s our health care, PTO, right to a 40-hr. work week, short-term disability and so much more we’ve struck for 3+ years.

as i have said multiple times, this is 100% correct. the corporate wing of democrats (which is 99% of them) care so much more about their personal security and wealth and will appease the corporate lobby at all costs.
Schumer and his friends want Trump to have power because they hate you. They are furious Mamdani won in a landslide and are afraid of repeats all over the country. Their solution is open capitulation to the far right.

Read every word & share with everyone you know. This is real life here in Chicago. Americans need to know this grotesque reality & stand with us.
Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

corporate democrats like this jackoff are simply reagan era republicans masquerading as democrats. they don't care about working people. they care about getting richer by satisfying the corporate lobby.
My statement on the funding deal to reopen government, protect federal employees, and vote to protect health care:

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

dick durbin should be primaried*

*strapped to a rocket, covered in 10w-40 motor oil and fired into space
Durbin is a YES on this deal: “At Democrats’ urging, today’s bill is not the same one we’ve voted down 14 times. Republicans finally woke up and realized their Groundhog Day needed to end. This bill is not perfect, but it takes important steps to reduce their shutdown’s hurt.”

I don't think it's cowardice. I think that they are OK with what the GOP is doing. The sooner folks reconcile with this, the better.

I will admit that this is the single funniest outcome of us doing a Keep Politics Out Of Sports after a guy kneeled
Government is shut down. Chaos in airports. 42 million going hungry. 24 million face skyrocketing healthcare costs. Economy in turmoil. And the president of the United States is in the Fox broadcast booth calling plays for a football game.

Which is what they want. Being in a permanent minority means they don’t have to actually deliver on anything and can just fundraise.
Dems caving for concepts of a Health Care revisit will lose the groundswell of No Kings, the momentum of recent elections, and the vote of the repeatedly ignored and frustrated.
