It’s mind boggling that some of these council members don’t seem to understand that sometimes money needs to be spent to make life more affordable, and the city more attractive to actually live in.

i find it so off-putting when you watch journalists interviewing politicians and you can tell they’re friendly, all in a big club that doesn’t serve the public’s interests. access journalism is the opposite of accountability journalism.

Halifax is mostly unique in the province in having density.
It mostly uses that density to keep taxes low.
It has used part of that surplus to... become less dense.

Halifax has crazy low taxes compared to other cities in Canada and other municipalities in Nova Scotia. Like we are an outlier in how low our taxes are.
