Been a minute, apologies! I've been scrambling to try and make the June #SteamNextFest. I didn't make it 🥲Next one in October for sure. Anyways, here's a shot featuring the WIP HUD #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #indiedev

Hey, folks! I've been silent on here for awhile, but fear not! I'm still cranking away on Orbital Mechanics, promise. Worthy visuals to share soon.

Goodness, team. It's hard enough to will myself to write UI code without my country absolutely falling apart and my wife's livelihood as a scientist at the EPA going to hell.. stay strong, friends. #indiedev #indiegamedev

My favorite fact about the NYC subway is that there are way more daily riders (about 4 million) than the number of people who fly in the US out of all airports every day (~2.5 million). The scale is hard to get a grasp on.
Max capacity passengers per hour:
* Boring Co’s Vegas Loop: 4,500
* NYC subway 6 train: 105,000

Doing that thing everyone said never to do ever, under any circumstances - ever - don't even think about it, and updating my #Unity version mid-project. Will report back. #indiegamedev #indiedev

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

Egg prices are soaring again. Here’s why and what to expect
Bird flu has killed millions of hens in recent weeks, shrinking the supply of eggs and hiking up prices at grocery stores.

I concur. I've known Jonathan for many years, and his reports are mandatory reading. If you can help, please do!
For those who don’t know, Jonathan is *the* person who keeps track of stuff in space, a key part of the information ecosystem for anyone who studies or writes about satellites. He now needs some help to keep doing this. (1/2)
Well, big news. I am planning to move the Space Library to a new home. And I need some help - in 35 years I've never asked for funding, donations or subscriptions for my Space Report, to keep it independent, but now I need to raise some additional funds.

Regrettably, I decided to opt out of entry into Steam's NextFest - instead targeting the June event. Here's a conciliatory #ScreenshotSaturday, messing around with larger systems. At a certain system scale, I'll hit float precision issues. Ought to go double long term.. #indiedev #indiegamedev

50 years of space exploration in one infographic.
Hopefully, in the next 50 years, there'll be too many lines to count.

Belated, illegal #ScreenshotSaturday on Sunday 💀 Progress through levels completing challenges - typically by rendezvousing with a target, or, in this case, achieving a trajectory passing through two regions. A ship's satisfying the objective by entering the bottom zone now #indiedev #indiegamedev

Late to the discount here, but this course is worth it with or without it - as all things Chris DeLeon produces are! He tends to make challenging problems, like delivering a game on time 💀, quite approachable.

Alter your trajectories through manual burns or by pre-planned maneuvers - the former is on display here, ultimately sending a ship on a hyperbolic escape trajectory #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

Using the "patched conic approximation," a many-body system is divided into several two-body systems, simplifying trajectories into deterministic ones. This is often pretty darn physically accurate - plus it allows for reliable time warp, or rewind even!
