I was curious about the @pixelfed "login with mastodon" feature but was presented with this server block. I wonder why pixelfed.social blocked mastodon.gamedev.place? 🤔

Anyway, I was hoping that would work before I re-uploaded everything to my […]

Went to see Lupin the IIIrd: The Immortal Bloodline in theaters today.

If you're a Lupin fan already, and you've seen Koike's previous films, I think it's worth seeing in theaters as it's the conclusion to the series. So go in support if you fit in that camp.

Having said that, there are things […]

Happy New Year #fediverse !

It's been a wild year and a emotional roller coaster, but the fediverse is still holding strong and here's looking to 2026!

Any advice for storing raw renders from blender without wasting a lot of space?

I'd love to store raw frames in a folder for use in other applications (video editors, ffmpeg, etc) but balk as the file usage of these folders goes up and up. Any tricks here from people who do a lot of blender […]

There's been some talk about IPC standards and whatnot lately. One of the things I don't get, as a person who doesn't deal with Linux IPC directly as much, is why the focus isn't on improving the d-bus documentation? Would any new standard be an improvement if it was equally undocumented?

This […]

*Ahem* Steam year review shows I'm all in on linux now. Nice to have a statistic on this, and also interesting to see how desktop vs deck balances out. (My steam deck is running bazzite, so also interesting it detects that so must look at the hardware itself.)

I occasionally see people mention servo when talking about web browsers.

What's the deal with servo since mozilla abandoned it? Last I looked on flatpak repos, it doesn't seem like any of the browsers there are powered by a servo backend.

Would like to try it sometime, I'm still using floorp […]

Hmm... Irked by gitea instructions not having any advice for rootless (via podman) configuration for gitea's complimenting `act_runner` instance for local CI/CD. Would really like to isolate this stuff to user space if possible.

Anyone else experience windows 11 issues where the start menu just stays empty and there's a build date printed out on the upper right? (Mine was dated for November 23, 2025 fwiw.) #windows #weirdness

Tonight I worked on the fire place. Sadly, I have no dynamic light sources, so for now, this needs to suffice. There is an overwhelming amount of stuff to model and insert left 🥵
I hope I can keep it up 🤞

- Try to explain how the fediverse works as part of the user roll-in […]

Anybody know a good way of planning an upgrade of a CPU + GPU combo for a single APU system?

I genuinely find it hard to compare a APU with shared memory to a CPU GPU combo, and many sites don't seem well designed to support this type of comparison. #technology #hardware #graphics

Deeply disappointed by Fedora's new AI policies that allows AI contributions.

It is impossible to argue *who* owns any snippet of AI generated code. Is code that is generated by OpenAI is owned by OpenAI? The person who sniped it from their chatlog? This is ignoring that the AI industry itself […]
