Anyone else experience windows 11 issues where the start menu just stays empty and there's a build date printed out on the upper right? (Mine was dated for November 23, 2025 fwiw.) #windows #weirdness

Tonight I worked on the fire place. Sadly, I have no dynamic light sources, so for now, this needs to suffice. There is an overwhelming amount of stuff to model and insert left 🥵
I hope I can keep it up 🤞

Welp, might need to move from Gmail now. Any recommendations that aren't ProtonMail? (Not going to give ProtonMail money due to their affiliation with the Trump Admin.) #email #technology

So Valve finally announced the Steam Frame. After so much hype online and speculation, people are grappling with what it is vs their expectations. All which leads me to the question:

If you are a VR-head, what do you think are the killer features of […]

It's extremely important for the fediverse that browsing applications:
- Make instance selection, browsing and logging in as a first-class experience
- Try to explain how the fediverse works as part of the user roll-in […]

Anybody know a good way *automated* way to take a bunch of audio files with semicolon delimiters and properly splitting the tags in a way that's compatible with picard / jellyfin? #linux #music #DataHoard

Anybody know a good way of planning an upgrade of a CPU + GPU combo for a single APU system?

I genuinely find it hard to compare a APU with shared memory to a CPU GPU combo, and many sites don't seem well designed to support this type of comparison. #technology #hardware #graphics

Deeply disappointed by Fedora's new AI policies that allows AI contributions.

It is impossible to argue *who* owns any snippet of AI generated code. Is code that is generated by OpenAI is owned by OpenAI? The person who sniped it from their chatlog? This is ignoring that the AI industry itself […]

Today, October 21, 2025, there is a rally in San Francisco in support of @internetarchive. Tomorrow, the Internet Archive is having a party to celebrate 1 trillion webpages archived. You know what stayed up when AWS went down?

The fediverse*. 😇

(Ok, I'm sure some parts of the fediverse did go down)

I only just recently learned of the Gemini protocol (not the AI, a different web protocol) and I'm both amazed but a little bit shocked. #geminispace

Make sure to show up to your local #nokings protest.

They act tough, they aim to silence, but they're ultimately powerless if we show up in numbers never seen before in the #usa

We must show the world that we're not complacent with regards to the systematic takeover of corrupt oligarchs and […]

I've migrated over to Cosmic DE today, with the release of the Beta. So far so good! With this, I have a new immutable image based on BlueBuild that is cosmic-first.

I haven't tried anything complex yet like tablets, but hopefully it goes well. #cosmic

Finished Echoes of Wisdom tonight.

I standby that the game might be a bit underrated. But by the end, I think it could have done a lot more with Zelda's powers and that the idea could be revisited with some stronger design.

I think it's crazy to say this about a Nintendo game.

But TLOZ:Echoes of Wisdom might be an underrated game. I think the game is much better than I was expecting since it seemed to come out to short-lived praise last year. Pleasantly surprised. #nintendo #zelda

Hmm...

I can't get Win11 installer working in QEMU/KVM setup but Win10 does. For some reason the windows 11 installer looks at the processor and immediately crashes with the error code `UNSUPPORTED PROCESSOR`.

This is even after ensuring TPM is enabled and on my hardware. Interesting […]

Crazy how I can't download the ISO version of Windows; it gives me an error code every time. Browser changes don't matter. Looks like they block IP ranges and mine is included for whatever reason. They forced me to run the media creation tool, which thankfully does work.

Is there a federated internet? As in, a web of server hosts that federate with each other and host a distributed DNS between these servers via a virtual, encrypted network adapter?

This is a thought I had regarding the slow death of the internet and what alternatives could exist. It feels like […]
