Now a great presentation by @farahzadishadi.bsky.social on marriage migration.
Interesting finding: muslims choose to marry abroad not to gain from migration but finding a partner from the same ethnicity and religion.
Check out her work.

This is the saddest news I could have received. A profound loss for the entire community. You don’t need to meet someone in person to recognize their impact, as her work spoke volumes. She was a role model to many. Condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. RIP #ghazalaazmat

Devastating news at IZA yesterday. More than 25 years of hard work, earned reputation, and valuable institutional knowledge and public good provision wiped out with a single stroke. It’s hard to find the words.

Wow. This is bigger than I thought.
We should be involved in the data collection as much as we are in the data analysis. Well done @i4replication.bsky.social!
After being alerted about possible misconduct, the I4R are reproducing published papers that use data from a specific NGO (GDRI). This thread releases the first 2 reports and provides more information about the work and responses/statements from authors journals and journals. 🧵

It's a very sad day. Just notified that @iza.org is closing its doors as of 31 December 2025. At a time when labor is under attack and technological change moves at an ever-faster pace, I can't help but think that this is a short-sighted decision. My heart goes out to those folks who work there.
