I'm basically a mix of being a goth, geek, and cultural creative. I like video games, movies, art, music, travel and other things.

I know I've been quiet over the past couple of months. I moved to a new home recently and getting settled in. It's been a process that's eating up my focus and time. Otherwise I've been gradually playing through Bravely Default on the 3DS.

Anyway, hope you all are having a good December so far.

Happy 10 years for Undertale!

I remember hearing how much of a phenomenon it was for indie games back then. Once I tried playing it, I eventually understood why it struck gold for so many people. I do think it's a great game and I'm happy to see it still having an impact.

I gave KPop Demon Hunters a watch today. I was engaged while viewing it and enjoyed the art, music and vibe it had going for it! The story was decent and the characters were likable, too.

I recommend checking it out if you want to see an animated film that is fresh and stylish.

For about a year, I had been playing through the Crossbell duology from The Legend of Heroes: Trails series, consisting of Trails from Zero, and Trails to Azure. Overall, I enjoyed playing through these games, but I would not call them among my favorites in the whole series.

A few thoughts on the Nintendo Switch 2:

I’m not going to buy one this year. Of the games announced so far, only Mario Kart World interests me. And the high pricing of the system/games, likely caused by inflation and tariffs being implemented across the world, is a turn off for my consideration.

I was having some severe sleep and anxiety issues last January, so I didn't have the drive to post on here. But I am starting to feel better since the beginning of this month at least. I'll plan to post a bit more from here on out.

For the past couple of years, I’ve been thinking of retiring from supporting Nintendo. The games I play from them just don’t really interest me anymore, like Mario, Pokémon, Smash Bros and, to some degree, Fire Emblem. I’ve not cared much for their other series like Zelda, Metroid and Splatoon, too.

I am thankful for a social media site that’s not run by disinformation-pushing maniacal billionaire, not controlled by an algorithm design to censor news and much-needed debate, and not overrun by mean-spirited people who encourage and celebrate ignorance. Thankful, indeed.

Earlier this week I decided to deactivate my Twitter/X account. I've used that platform less often over the past year due to the unwelcome changes being carried out there. Now in the aftermath of the U.S. Election results, I've had enough of it.

Seems like millions of others are doing the same too.

Got around to seeing "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" in theaters.

It's a good, enjoyable sequel to the original 1988 classic. While not flawless, this turned out better than it could have otherwise. It's familiar, yet doesn't obsess on doing just retreads of the first film.

I'd watch it again.

This summer has been pretty good for me overall, but I'm eager for fall to arrive. It's my favorite season with my birthday, the holidays, fall colors and cooler, crisp weather to look forward to.

Plus the pumpkin flavored foods, of course.

I'll probably uninstall the Truecaller app eventually as I don't want it to get in the way of every unsolicited call I get, but at least it helped put an end to the spam call issue I had for several weeks.

I finally got the spam calls to stop bothering me on a near daily basis after installing Truecaller on my phone. Paying for a one month subscription allowed me to use a virtual assistant to answer these spam calls for me. The calls have essentially stopped since then. Awesome.

I've been dealing with annoying spam calls several times a week lately. Ignoring and blocking individual calls doesn't do much because they just move on to using a different phone number in hopes of tricking me.

How long must this last before it stops or at least be much less frequent?

Over the past few weeks, I had been playing a few of my 3DS games online in light of Nintendo's plan to shut down the servers tomorrow. Gotta say...it's been real fun and nostalgic.

I honestly didn't use the 3DS's Wi-Fi features too much over its lifespan, but I am going to miss those experiences.

I feel frustrated having medical issues that are hard to diagnose, which in turn makes it hard to treat them. I hope these problems aren't permanent...

So I've heard Bsky is now open for signing up without using invite codes.

A part of me is concerned of what will happen to this platform in the long run, but this was bound to happen at some point.

I'd rather be here than that Musk driven one.

I'm pretty late on doing this, but I finally gave Sonic Prime a proper watch by checking out the very first episode.

While I did have a few nitpicks on things like the writing, it was honestly pretty solid and I kind of liked what I saw.

Wouldn't mind seeing a few more episodes in the future.

I've wrapped up my long playthrough of Trails of Cold Steel IV (well over 100 hours).

With it, brings the Cold Steel saga to an end for me. I still need to play Trails into Reverie (and the Crossbell Saga), but I'll be taking a break from the Trails series to focus on other games I've sidelined.

I've been on this website for a week now.

I'm not a very active person on social media usually, but I can see Bluesky being my primary place to go for now on. Feels less toxic here compared to the big platforms we all know.

Plus, I dig the vibe here. :)
