Driving to Houston tomorrow and there are two Buc-ee’s on the way.

I stop at both, right? Coming AND going?

The most votes for Trump in any state came from California.

The second most votes for Harris in any state came from Texas.

The notion that US states are politically uniform, and everyone there deserves the consequences of state elections is absurd.

Yes. And this is why our image of God is so important. And why training programs in spiritual direction begin with image of God. If we get this wrong, nothing good follows.

Here in Texas, we are celebrating the second annual “Fireworks or Guns” today.

So far, guns 2, fireworks 0. It’s not even 8pm.

Watching Hamilton today.

“Immigrants, we get the job done” hits different this year. Imagine thousands upon thousands of people who themselves (or families) immigrated to have and fight for freedom.

1776: they became Founders.
2025: they’re despised.

America no longer has values. Shameful.

Not only is this an almost impossible time to be an historian, structurally, it’s also a hugely morally distressing one. Our work is manipulated, defunded, and then ignored, and we sit here watching humanity do the same dumb shit over and over again. Thanks, I hate it.

Netanyahu completely played Trump. Outmaneuvered every step of the way. Didn't want to look weak or out of touch so went ahead and joined US in a reckless war with Iran.

Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love…

Why is it that when I need to be really focused, the most entertaining spammer text comes in and I have to fight the urge to say something really witty and funny? Dude, you don't know where you are?

What would you say to this spammer?

I just had a seminary student write a rationale on their infographic assignment saying that they went with the specific theme "for V I B E S."

I definitely giggled.

This reminds me of the correspondence between Jefferson and Adams, if you dipped their letters in grease, set them on fire, and dropped them in a dumpster, which was also on fire.

The public meltdown happening between the world’s richest man 🙄 and the President of the United States 🙄🙄 once again begs the age-old question: are men simply too emotional to be in positions of power?

So, a real question... why is the Librarian of CONGRESS appointed by the President? Why isn't it a function/office of the Legislative Branch?
BREAKING: President Donald Trump abruptly fires Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden.

The dismissal was disclosed in statements from three top House Democrats and confirmed by a separate person familiar with the matter.
