“congress canceled forever” has been feeling more likely than I ever would have thought possible like 6 months ago. Would be an insane own goal for individual congressional Rs tho lol
at this point I don’t see them actually negotiating, so either we get a filibuster carveout for budget stuff (which is, functionally, the end of the filibuster - something Rs don’t want) or this just keeps going forever and congress has effectively disbanded itself

one of my biggest online pet peeves are people treating random posters like they are representatives of entire political parties. the guy who was quote posted isn't a professional democrat or visibly associated with the democratic party! he's just a guy voicing his opinion!

It drives me nuts that the conservative legal movement took some pretty straightforward ideas abt implied rights and basically went “wtf is a penumbra… sounds made up” and then maintained that posture for decades so they could ultimately destroy our judicial system
