💯 Even now, we could just ban crypto. The ban wouldn’t be airtight, but it doesn’t need to be to stop most of the harm.
Why is it that tech and AI boosters keep saying "you can't put the genie back in the bottle" when making arguments about AI's supposed inevitable dominance? Did they not read the story? The genie does, indeed, go back in the bottle. Maybe we should start there.

This woman has been in ice jail for 10 months for absolutely no reason. It also shows how an arrest at a protest caused massive consequences - essentially creating a flag on her at her next immigration check in- even though charges were dropped
