AIIDE this year was incredible: I gained a lot of insight and spent a ton of quality time with new and old friends.

I'm filled with an incredible energy and excitement for work I haven't felt since the start of my PhD. Thank you all so much, and I hope to see you all again soon :)

I'm back with the last day of AIIDE 2025 live posting!
We're back to live (almost, because I was so engrossed I couldn't post during the talk) with Jonathan Schaeffer's keynote on the past, present, and potential future of Game AI.

What an amazing retrospective with insight into the future! I'll be thinking about this one for a while.

Tune in to @roguelike.club in 3 hours for my talk about the analogy between physics and procedural generation! We'll see how generators can be solid, liquid or gaseous and why –just like Maxwell's Demon– designers are underrated little guys. 🍵🫖

last night i finished silksong: one of the best games i've played in years, and a game that felt like it took 7 years to make! i found myself consistently impressed by the scale and care put into almost every aspect of the game, and overall a very satisfying experience

this is exactly what i needed to read today: i feel like over the last few months i've lost being silly due to work and life, and it's starting to hurt my soul 😔 here's to posting more and being silly
PSA:

1. If you are not silly, it is vital you become silly

2. If you are silly, you must stay silly

2. If you used to be silly but have stopped, you must make all efforts to return to silliness

Honored to keynote EXAG this morning, talking about Kitfox and procedural generation. My experiences with proc-gen are a bit "wandering guy in Pulp Fiction meme" but that's okay. Progress as non-linear is an essential truth.
Today at #AIIDE24 we have the EXAG workshop, which starts with a keynote talk by @tanyaxshort.bsky.social! If you haven't already, be sure to follow @exag.bsky.social.
