AI sucks
I’ve only typed to it once in my m365 and it was to say “I think you’re stupid and I hate that you’re included in my m365 and I wish you would go away.”

I love that every city has added a new mischief to the anti-ICE work:
LA started the noise outside hotels
Portland started the inflatables
Chicago started the whistles
Minneapolis started not warning them about the weather lol
If ICE comes to your city it’s your duty to out-scamp the last 🫡

2026 Book Thread 📚

Nice, quick robot/space read that reinforces my AI hatred.

I don't do much cardiac ICU, but I have always felt vaguely anti-MCS (and even anti-swan in most cases). This article from NEJM made me feel even more unenthusiastic about MCS.

The other day I overheard someone at the gym say “I lost all respect for the surgeon when he walked in wearing scrubs and square toe cowboy boots.”

I ironically napped in my bed during today’s mandatory sleep deprivation zoom training. Now cozy and devouring this book. I always have clinic and meetings and catch up academic work after my ICU weeks, but I do try to preserve Monday as a recovery day.

My hospital is developing this thing called Heart Shock where if activated, the patient gets whisked to the ICU and a swan has to be placed immediately. I’m…not sure that I like it.

In the last 25 years I’ve done velour pants, yoga pants, leggings, and joggers but now I’m switching to matching baggy sweatsuits and why did no one tell me how comfortable they are.

Parent and pediatrician here.

All vaccines are still available & recommended. Talk to your pediatrician for more info.

Know this: Even as our government shifts its recommendation language, I would never forgo the RSV, hepatitis A & B, or meningitis vaccines for my own kids.

I made hibachi clear soup today and I think I might have to make it every week. Like vegetable tea.

My MIL got me this little mini book nook kit and it was so fun to put together. The light in it makes it so extra cute.

It is so interesting how patients think the medical chart works…like they think I can chart specific information (aside from allergies) that every clinician will see and read and be able to act on at every visit.

Example: when I am prescribed abx I am to also be prescribed zofran.

The holidays fell on my clinic days so I had an honest to goodness almost two week break from clinical work (besides inbox management) and apparently this causes the Sunday scaries start on Saturday.

Having to log into my laptop, open a browser, type in a password that sends a signal to my phone that I unlock with my facial ID and type a displayed number into a separate app in order to have institutional access to a journal article necessary for my job will be the thing that Jokerfies me.

I’m starting to get really mad at how unreasonable it is to be expected to have 40 different usernames and passwords (all which have to be changed frequently) and multiple different authenticator apps to do my job…oh but don’t use an easy password or keep them written down anywhere! It is too much.

Thought it’s not a move I’d typically reach for based on the very actiony trailer I watched One Battle After Another this evening because of Leo. It was so good. Sean Penn did such a good job being insane.
