Tomorrow, February 28, let’s disrupt the status quo by spending ONLY at businesses that uplift our communities.

That means:
🚫 No gas from corporate giants
🚫 No fast food chains
🚫 No big-box retailers (Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.)

hey for anyone who might want to actually own their kindle books instead of renting them, or who might be thinking of switching to kobo etc and will want to convert them to epubs, you now only have one week before amazon kills your ability to download its ebooks www.theverge.com/news/612898/...
Amazon’s killing a feature that let you download and backup Kindle books
It’s bad if you like to keep ebook backup copies.

I agree with a commenter on the OP that “there is no ethical way to use generative AI,” and I am ASTOUNDED that I had to write “intellectual property concerns inherent in the training and use of AI in general” in myself under “other” when completing the survey.
Y'all if you are Episcopalian please fill this out and say you are not at all interested in AI in church lol (if that's how you feel - it's for a task force created by General Convention re: AI)

It’s the “little” things that make you cry sometimes. (But not really little, when we are still talking about a whole group of people, and their art, and their whole careers.)

And thou shalt especially not ally with the Green family and their agenda in order to do so.
Thou shalt not spend millions on Super Bowl ads about Jesus when you could’ve used it to feed the hungry.

In preparation for today’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, state police forced over 100 homeless men and women onto buses under threat of arrest, dumping them in an unheated warehouse. Tents destroyed, belongings lost. Press are barred from the warehouse.

The price tag for this cruelty? $17.5 million

The Resegregation of Higher Education in the United States
Just in case you thought that removing DEI criteria would mean that everyone is competing equally: NIH is removing grad students from underrepresented backgrounds from the applicant pool altogether. Their applications will not be considered. Other students, not from these backgrounds, will be.

Guys, stop copying and pasting those boiler-plate “I don’t give permission for Meta/AI to use my content” statuses. They don’t do anything except give the original creator of that post all kinds of data about who reposts what.
