What do we have to change so that this never happens again? Checks on power have failed. The electoral college failed. The Supreme Court is compromised. I'm optimistic we'll get through this, but we need deep structural changes.

Democrats seem to think the pivoting to the center makes them most electable but all it does it piss *everyone* off.

Having beliefs/a backbone and being authentic is the best way to win elections. People are fucking sick of croneyism and corporate suck ups and that is why Zohran cruised to victory

Personally I think Democrats should hold out for impeachment. Would possibly give spineless Republicans the excuse they need. Never happen though

Maybe it's just me, but Starbucks "protein" cream topping is kinda...well asking to be joked about? Maybe I'm just being juvenile?

I've never understood when someone says they are "fiscally conservative". Like wtf do you even mean? It makes a false assumption that the other side is irresponsible with money and is constantly bankrupting companies

Also, the politics of fear always work with conservatives because they are afraid of being classified as the "other" group

We often question the hypocrisy of conservatives. Once you understand their only philosophy is to use the law to protect their perceived "in" group and bind the perceived "out" group, it all makes sense. That's it. That's all they have to offer every single time

There was a period in American pop culture where we obsessed over attack helicopters. That ended and now everything has gone to shit

I don't know how "laugh tracks" work on sitcoms, but we need portable ones that can be used anytime a Republican opens their mouth. Could you imagine Congress doing this after the orange turd says something?

The Internet of the 21st century was a mistake. We're going back to the internet of 1995. You cannot use the internet and talk on the phone at the same time. Amazon is a website that sells books. There is no social media. There are message boards, chatrooms, and everyone gets one (1) Geocities page

Had a thought this morning: we need a term for do nothing, follow the status quo Democrats. How about Merrick Garland Democrats? Man I really hope 2026 brings some fresh, progressive leadership.

The Republicans and trump voters have decided to invade our cities with the military. Can we expect the gun nuts and militias to show up and oppose this? Isn't this what they were waiting for? No? I assume they were just a bunch of racist pussies all along.

Thinking about a system to check out 3 random books from the library. I spend way too much time trying to find the perfect next read.
