It's pretty easy to grasp why IndyCar said yes to an event that will put its cars in photos with actual American monuments. It's also pretty easy to grasp why it's a bad look to tie up to the administration at this exact moment, a week after a decisive turning point in public opinion.

My fear is that today proves the Penske-Fox ownership strategy is being actualized
Their expansion goals focus on the young “pro-American” demographic. They don’t care about who that might alienate
I believe that this strategy will fail, but the damage done in the attempt will be irreparable

#IndyCar will get what’s coming to it by sabotaging its own growth in this manner.
I get that Roger has the political power blinders on, but someone in the organization must understand both the optics and how many newer fans will drop out. Permanent long term damage.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee made it clear that while a laureate can physically give away the medal or other physical items, that does not make someone else a Nobel Peace Prize winner. The official title and recognition remain tied to the person the committee originally selected.
