I've spent the past 18 months in this situation, it is exhausting

NEW blog: kissing at the speed of consent.

“You don’t rush in quickly, in case I change my mind. You slow the fuck down, to focus my mind on how much I want you.”

Kissing at the speed of consent : the perfect first kiss is the one I yearn for
The perfect first kiss is not rushed, because you're eager to seal the deal. The perfect kiss happens at the speed of consent.

Men on #dating sites who get ghosted: have you ever considered that you’re excruciatingly difficult to talk to?

I’m in so many convos with men where I’ve asked open, chatty questions, then received the conversational equivalent of a slammed door.

“Yeah I like X. Also Y.”

What can I DO with that?

Is this you @tindergirl.bsky.social? 👀
I am obsessively proud of the collection of cables I have built up over the years. Sometimes I will just stare at the box I keep them in, thinking how handy some of them would be in certain situations. These situations have never come up

I'm going to get it ironed and framed next year, and up on the wall
This is stunning! I think I am you *and* your friend, because this summer I cross-stitched a map of the Paris metro/RER, for myself 😁

Recently a friend gave me the most incredible gift I have ever received. Would you like to see it? OF COURSE.

Here is the tube map... IN CROSS STITCH.

It takes my breath away that anyone could create this, let alone create it for me. She's astonishing.

The wish I made at 11.11 today came true, so now my whole perception of reality is massively skewed

My wife and I have to call our shopping list "ze list" in the style of the U Boat Captain in Dad's Army.

We were in Wilko one day and I asked her "vot is on ze list?" A voice from the next aisle called out "don't tell him, Pike!"

My daughter was sadly unimpressed.

About to get my eyebrows done which always makes me feel fab. Partly because I like having good eyebrows again, and partly because the beauty therapist and I have coffee and cake and a bloody good chat

Cheshire skies were pretty impressive late this afternoon

I should be heading up to Cheshire later to see my parents, and provide support for the new live-in carer who starts tomorrow, there's a lot for her to learn. Except all the roads by me are impassable, and all the trains are cancelled. Perfect.

I'd nearly forgotten about this truly joyous aspect of wearing flared jeans. I never really got on with skinny jeans, flares are way more flattering, but... 🙄 I only went out for ten minutes!

Hello 😊 my life may still be a total bin fire, everything may still be a bit of a chaotic nightmare, but at least it's nicer over here than in the festering remains of over there
