Pulled out my journal yesterday for the first time since July 4th weekend. Not sure why, but I struggle with any sort of writing when 21yo is in the house. We talk about writer-stuff - she writes fiction too when she can - but I can't actually write romantic or sexy things when she's anywhere near.

You know I was reading my mom's library-borrowed and purchased sexually explicit books WAY before I understood the sexually explicit parts. But I did learn not to take shit from toxic men from that 80s smut. And that I wasn't fond of immature boys. Maybe that's what they don't want girls to learn?
Hey Texas folks, there's a new book ban being debated in the legislature. HB3225 would ban minor access to "sexually explicit" books in all public libraries (not school libraries, public libraries), with no opt-in / opt-out options.

Just finished listening to Airframe by Michael Chricton in #audiobook. It's not new but I'm posting about it because 1980s aviation drama suddenly feels semi-relevant again. Some bits do still feel data. Wish it was more FAA & less corporate - journalism BS. #booksky #books #reading

So today in how to make your life harder, I still have conjunctivitis AND I screwed a database report up so badly that a critical dashboard no longer functions and we need it at a 10 am Saturday meeting. Tomorrow. So I need to fix it. Tonight.
