‪‪I don't know how I feel about #NationalComingOutDay.

But I know my Queerness is in the Image of God.

I know that the more I dwell in God, the more Queer I feel. And fiercer, and more vulnerable, and more loving, angrier, and less suited to this world yet more in it.

Some friends set up this fundraiser to support me after a mental health crisis. Then the tornado hit my hometown of Enderlin, ND—taking things to another level.

I'll be sharing the funds with my cousin, who lost her home in the storm.

Also, do you want some summer... art? Check out the interactive gallery of work that @elleandwink.bsky.social created alongside my book. It's pretty darn neat. Maybe grab something for your walls while you're there?

No cows, but there was a horse! And a veterinary intern!
Winkie (the eponymous "Wink" if @elleandwink.bsky.social ) is at the vet today, finally getting her tick treatment, and a claw trim, and probably a couple shots, and her knees checked.

Local vet is also a farm vet, so maybe she'll also get to see a cow for once in her dang life.

I'll also add if you are a person who has never talked to a reporter before, one of the safest things is to default, explicitly start "off the record" in live convo and be upfront with the reporter that this is the first time you've done this, can they talk you through ~their~ process to reporting.

“A.I. makes art accessible.” Art has always been accessible. There was like a six month period where I drew all the sketches for my comics with a lined notebook from the grocery store and a random green marker.

2) they don’t break down data by race here—we need that info (generally BW’s maternal death rate is 3x that of WW, Native W is 2x)

3) they looked at hospital data. So missing greatest cause of pregnant/postpartum death: Murder. Abuse skyrockets w/pregnancy.
Dozens more pregnant and postpartum women have died in Texas hospitals since the state banned abortion, our analysis shows.

As the maternal mortality rate dropped nationally, it rose in Texas by 33%.
Texas Banned Abortion. Then Sepsis Rates Soared.
ProPublica’s first-of-its-kind analysis is the most detailed look yet into a rise in life-threatening complications for women experiencing pregnancy loss under Texas’ abortion ban.
