Random, but I’m still looking for stable employment (research/analysis/writing/teaching) and I’m happy to send along my CV in English/French. Job has to be in the UK, Canada or online.

I'm sorry but given that Sudanese live tweeted and live streamed multiple massacres including the day the RSF took Medani - we saw footage of corpses & people digging mass graves in real-time - I'm actually so tired of any explainer that indirectly suggests we are the reason for the lack of empathy.

There is already a nuclear-armed country in the Middle East that does not allow international inspectors despite having nukes for decades - and it’s not Iran.

Israel is also one of a handful of countries to have never signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

Because "woke" and DEI are merely the convenient rallying cries of the day for white patriarchal supremacist politics that seek to dismantle civil rights for all. To turn back the clock on all 20th century emancipation movements.

If that wasn't clear to you before, take it in now - and fight back.

AI data centers are multiplying across the U.S. and sucking up huge amounts of power.

New evidence shows they may also be distorting the normal flow of electricity for millions of Americans
AI Needs So Much Power, It’s Making Yours Worse
There’s a strong link between proximity to AI data centers and higher levels of distorted power in residential areas

We must remember that no one, including Ahmad Al-Shara'a, is the only one capable of leading Syria. Thinking otherwise is a leftover mindset from the past 54 years. I say this because I am noticing a lot of pushback of valid criticism citing: "sensitive times" and I don't think this is wise.

Today, I obtained my detention file from the Intelligence Branch (Branch 215) dated September 4, 2011, in Damascus. The file is 88 pages long and includes wiretaps of my calls and security reports about my journalistic work.
The jailer photographed me before the series of lengthy interrogations.

Progressive activists are not the ones concerned all Syrian rebels are jihadists and willing us to fail.
They are the people reaching out to & raising the voices of Syrian democrats, leftists, feminists and those working against sectarianism & for peaceful coexistence.

And it's not even Just Sednaya. Horros were happening in many other prisons.
The images coming out of Sednaya are too horrific to share. But they tell us what we already knew from countless testimony over the years.
Never forgive those who defended and justified this regime. They have the blood of Sednaya on their hands.

Sednaya ❤️‍🩹. We are waiting. There cannot be bigger news. Parallel in importance to even the fall of the regime itself.
I eagerly await the arrival of the Free Syrian Army at Sednaya Prison to liberate the detainees. Sednaya Prison is known for the tragic loss of thousands of detainees who lost their lives under torture under Assad's regime, and many more remain imprisoned there.

Why has Iran State TV stopped using the term “terrorist” adopting instead the term “opposition” when referring to Syrian rebels?

Bcause calling them terrorists comes with a duty to go to war, & they’re clearly not willing to put their money where their mouths were just yesterday
