I don’t know how to tell people this but more women/BIPOC/LGBTQ artists winning things and gaining popularity was not supposed to be a cute trend and then a return to normality. It was supposed to be progress that we continued making.

I slipped and ordered the 2026 *and* 2025 bundles plus a couple of extras. My poor TBR. Can't wait for the new Claudia Piñeiro in particular!
It's here. Our 2026 Bundle.

Nine incredible titles - including new novels from faves Claudia Piñeiro and Ana Paula Maia, sci-fi from Puerto Rico, short stories and Oscar-winning inspirations. Direct to your door, throughout the year, ahead of publication.

Hey, why do people struggle to understand nuance and complexity…
Abridging has always been in vogue. Now, apps like Blinkist take entire books and crunch them down to a series of what are called Blinks—which amount to around 2,000 words. “Is that what books are coming to, a handy social lubricant?” Anthony Lane asks.
Can You Read a Book in a Quarter of an Hour?
Phone apps now offer to boil down entire books into micro-synopses. What they leave out is revealing.

I post a piece of good news every day (climate, civil rights, disease eradication, science, sanitation, conservation) because, to keep our activism & resistance going, we need reminders that, when we try hard, we do succeed. They *want* doomerism; Despair is how we lose. #ShareGoodNewsToo

Reminder: if you are worried about AI replacing you as an artist: don’t use AI voices,
If you don’t want composing to be handed over to AI: don’t use it to write text.
You get the idea.

If you value your job: protect others jobs too.
