A month or so ago I noticed a stress line growing across my thumb, index and middle fingernails on both hands, about 3mm from the tips. I think it's grown out to the tips now because all those nails have broken in complete sync within the last two days. Bodies are weird.

Just had a fantastic session on science impact and engagement by @jamiebgall.co.uk for New Scientist Live - I always come away from these with so many ideas!

It's worth taking the road route rather than the footpath on my morning walks with the dog just for the flowers.

Today the Royal Society will meet to discuss “Fellows’ behaviour”. Without doubt the fellow they will primarily be discussing is Elon Musk.
The behaviour may range from his public dissemination of unfounded conspiracy theories to his attacks on the science

Had a fantastic time supporting @ukri.org and the @festivaloftomorrow.bsky.social! I really focused on creating an interactive exhibit for this and it paid off with how many people engaged with every part of our stand.
Last weekend the FAAM Airborne Laboratory team headed to Swindon to take part in the Festival of Tomorrow with @ukri.org.

We hope we've inspired future atmospheric scientists - not all science needs a lab coat! ✈️

At the stage of my cold where the insides of my ears feel itchy, oh joy

Really thought that having a dog would encourage me to wake up earlier, but it turns out she's as much of a sleepy girl as I am

Turns out that aircraft cup holders make a perfect dropsonde display stand (my job is very niche sometimes)

I was going to keep my @themerl.bsky.social giant hog mug in the office, but it brings me too much joy and I want to look at it on wfh days too

Points to anyone who recognises the piece of equipment I have, and extra points to anyone who can figure out what I'm trying to achieve with 55 metres of crafting wire

Dear wordpress, what is the point of uploading an image to your media editor and cropping it if the image reverts to its original uncropped version when you add it to a post?

My feelings of overwhelm are reaching critical mass today so I'm making another big list of all my tasks so I can look at them and cry*

*And also figure out how to get through them and make sure that people are aware I'm nearing capacity

Went to use the word "groundbreaking" in a title for an article about one of the upgraded instruments being fitted to the aircraft, then realised I'd already used it in the last title for an article about one of the upgraded instruments being fitted to the aircraft.

Let’s go down memory lane to visit a few milestones that our atmospheric research aircraft has experienced!

From studying volcanic ash clouds to flying in sync with satellites to research storms - where will we go next? ✈️

I've built a machine that can be Confidently Wrong. It can also make pictures that all look a bit the same, as well as make a video of you kissing any celebrity or person you know. In payment, I'd like to boil the world's oceans dry, & steal all literature. For some reason, my head is not on a spike

It annoys me when I buy a pack of tortillas for one meal I have in mind and then I have to invent so many other tortilla ideas so I don’t waste the rest of the pack

An important article on how minoritised ethnic groups experience higher levels of air pollution. 🧪
“Our research clearly reveals environmental injustice.”

Our team of air quality researchers have revealed significant disparities in air pollution emissions, with minoritised ethnic groups facing higher levels of harmful pollutants.
