It's worth taking the road route rather than the footpath on my morning walks with the dog just for the flowers.

I was going to keep my @themerl.bsky.social giant hog mug in the office, but it brings me too much joy and I want to look at it on wfh days too

Points to anyone who recognises the piece of equipment I have, and extra points to anyone who can figure out what I'm trying to achieve with 55 metres of crafting wire

The dog is determined to be a help to me* as I sand down wall panels

Pixie is down 1.9kg in six weeks, with 3kg left to go before she hits her target weight of 26kg! The walks are getting longer and she's getting fitter too - winter is lovely when it's like this.

January 6, 2025 at 12:15 PM
Her bed wasn't close enough to me for her liking so she had to compromise on the sleeping position

One of the more fraught weeks I've had at work but very happy that everything came together in time for a great NERC Council visit to the facility. Adding a few more tallies to the "it's bigger than I thought it would be" list too.

I got a dog so now I guess I'm one of those people who sees the sunrise and takes photos of it

One thing I've been pleasantly surprised by during the boat renovation has been how stable Puffin is despite the grim conditions outside. There's a bit of gentle motion to get used to but otherwise very peaceful (howling gale aside)

320 pieces of insulation to cut, on a boat, in Storm Bert.

This weekend's luxuries include a heater to take us from 8°C to 17°C, and a chocolate twist for breakfast.
