SMASH HOMOPHOBIC BIG LIGHT
REINSTALL LAMP
I rent an office from a workshare company.2 year lease. All the offices have light sensors. But I need a light switch, because I’m autistic and sometimes require darkness. They are trying to charge me 500 quid to install a light switch. In an office they own. Is that a violation of disability rights?

James Hansen’s new paper suggests that climate sensitivity is underestimated, and that the record-breaking heat in 2023-24 was due to accelerating warming rather than temporary El Niño.

I deeply hope it’s wrong, because it suggests we have locked in far more heating than currently understood.

- Prof James Hansen says pace of global heating has been significantly underestimated, though other scientists disagree

✝️Yoohoo big Catholic news✝️

1. Interesting article about how churches are now to give 30% of their land over to biodiversity over the next decade;— a very welcome initiative.

However, Christianity has had a huge impact on our landscape historically, so here's a wee thread to dissect its role 🧵
Mass movement on climate change: The churches doing their bit for biodiversity
Parishes around the country are giving over part of church grounds as 'a haven for pollinators and biodiversity' at the behest of Irish bishops

The pine marten is Ireland's rarest (and one of our prettiest) native mammals, and was almost lost to extinction through hunting for fur, poisoning, and destruction of their forest habitat. www.ciaraioch.com/artprints/p/...

Positive news that the EU have moved to declare Sika Deer an invasive species. Given the state of our remaining native forests, this is a highly welcome measure.

What is not welcome is advocating against this overdue policy change, and repackaging animal cruelty concerns to suit your own interests😡

The last native Irish rainforests are being killed by invasive sika deer + goats eating every last tree seedling.

The EU is planning to classify sika as invasive, but here, deer hunting orgs are opposed. Why?

They just want lots of stuff to shoot, and to *hell* with ecosystems.
