Incredible news: By standing together for what students need, our members in the Minneapolis Fed of Educators reached a TA. The agreement includes:
✅Enforceable class sizes & SPED workloads
✅Fair pay for ALL educators
✅Pay parity for adult educators
Congratulations, MFE 59! @EducationMN.bsky.social

It’s tough for students to learn in an overcrowded class. What @MFT59.bsky.social is asking for is smaller class sizes so they can make MPS a destination district & give every Minneapolis student the time & tools they need to thrive. We stand with MFT as they fight for a fair contract!

Waiting for the D line, my 4yr old tells a stranger at the bus stop all about his cousin's bday party, which we're headed to.
3 hrs later, we get on the bus home and sit next to that same person! He asked my son about the party and how it went. It was a wonderful, spontaneous moment of community.

While I'm talking about 50th, I may as well expand. Of all the streets in my neighborhood, this is by far the most hostile to non-drivers.
These pictures are between Lynnhurst Park and Bryant on 50th. What I would give to comfortably walk from the park to the coffee shop with a stroller.

My daughter has been home sick and refuses to sleep unless she's on a bike ride. So we did 15 miles this morning, going as slow as possible. Meandered through Lakewood Cemetery looking for the ghost of Hubert Humphrey.

In Minnesota, drivers are required to stop for pedestrians at BOTH marked and unmarked crosswalks. Here I am at one of my least favorite streets, 50th, at one of my least favorite intersections, 50th and Aldrich. Let's see how long it takes for someone to follow the law.

6 years ago, we moved to a house that made Lake Harriett walks very easy. We wondered if we would start to take it for granted at some point. Hasn't happened yet.

Hot tip for Josh. I'm nowhere near Ward 8. Would not recommend voting for him. Seems incompotent.

I finally got a chance to watch this interview.
This video has created a burning desire to know who is the most capable Minneapolis elected official on ice skates and a need to watch an "ice skating on the lakes" interview this winter.

What happens when you report traffic control parked in a bike lane to traffic control? Probably what always happens: nothing.

This born and raised candidate didn't realize the 2040 Plan was settled when @wedge.live interviewed him. Maybe he should have been born and raised earlier so he'd have a better grasp of basic Minneapolis issues.
When I moved to Minneapolis in the mid-aughts, it was really difficult to make friends. People from other states didn’t get it.
Now the bias is front and center in my city politics. If I’m a resident who “just got here,” do I matter less to Josh?

What do you do when you're waiting for the Orange Line at American Blvd and your 4 yr old needs to pee and can't hold it any longer? Asking for a friend.

I'd really love a Ward 13 candidate take housing policy more seriously.
what if anything should city do to regulate the building of apartment and condos unless they are affordable housing?
palmisano says she thinks people in this audience know how the 2040 plan works. that they can’t ban it. brags about being only vote against 2040

One of the main reasons my wife and I moved to Minneapolis 6 years ago was so we could maximize our opportunities to ice skate outdoors.

Lawn signs showed up today. Doing my part to balance Ward 13. Maybe one day we can get a council candidate I'd be happy to include.

Cashman's got labor, Shaffer with the C Suite, but who's got middle management's back? Who's with the men who've been promoted to their level of incompetence already and barely afford to send their 3 kids to Benilde-St Margaret's?
