With Indiana's close win today and Northwestern's loss last night, we've seen a passing of the torch:

The FBS record for most all-time losses has been passed from the Hoosiers (715) to the Wildcats (716).

Sometimes it's not clear, so I'll clarify it:

Even if these are drug boats, simply blowing them up is illegal.

And if they aren't drug boats, holy shit it's illegal.

Unprecedented corruption - not just monetizing the presidency by selling branded products, but selling those products directly to government employees and having the Department of Homeland Security promote them to the media

That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.
DHS confirmed it has stopped automatically storing officials' text messages.

Instead, officials are supposed to take a screenshot, send that to their work email, download it onto their work computer and run a text-recognition program on it. Every time.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. 🏈🎂

Look folks gen AI videos are out in the wild so if you weren't already being careful about sharing rage bait videos then now is a great time to start

If you can't trace a video back to a trusted source then I recommend leaving it where it is, like a slice of bologna you found on the street

Aren't Nobel prizes in sciences usually awarded for work done decades ago? John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret and John M. Martinis did the experiments that won then the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1984 and 1985.
The President of the United States is so upset about his failed campaign for a Nobel Prize that he's now trying to claim someone else's prize as his own.

Pathetic.

I don't know if somebody actually told Trump that there were "zero zoning conditions" or if he just imagined that, but to a developer, that's probably almost orgasmic to think about.

(And also completely not relevent to a historical site like the White House, I'd think.)

14 hours later, the tournament is over. Long day.

Congrats to Alberta A for winning the ACF Fall, and to Helen of Boise State who powered through the last three rounds solo after the rest of her team left because it became so late.
Happy Quizbowl Saturday!

Good luck to all teams competing in the ACF Fall today, especially Boise State!

Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.

It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.

Long thread.
