A few years back, I wrote the intro for a new ed of Zelda Fitzgerald’s novel, SAVE ME THE WALTZ. A few months ago, the press decided to close. Their books, including this one, will only be available in the US through 12/24.

I would point an interested reader and careful thinker to two things.
One, the university recently built another top-down school without student demand or sustainable funding. It isn’t doing so well.

I think about digital security in the age of autocracy a lot. This thread from 7 months ago needs some updating and grain. I am especially concerned about folks working in higher education, most of whom are still in denial as to the degree to which they are being surveilled.
I do not think of myself as privacy zealot but compared to my family, friends & colleagues I guess I am. Here’s my really basic low level toolkit (feel free to add recommendations or correct me on anything I get wrong, but despite what my friends think I want to keep it as simple as possible)
