Just went back to my day job this week and everyone keeps asking me how my break was... I want to reply "Good. 30K of editing good." but that's insufficient to express my glee to non-writers. 🤣

I've got to the middle of the novel I'm currently editing and have run out of steam. As this novel only seems to possess my brain at Christmas (no idea why), will I have to wait 12 months before I work on it again? 😂 Good thing I have another WIP to work on!

Sometimes a novel you're working on can feel like running through treacle. Enter my current WIP. Yet, when I checked, I found I was already a quarter of the way through the draft! I try not to obsess over word count, but sometimes you need to check if the treacle is an illusion.

I'm excited to almost have another book out. 😁 Yes, proofing is almost done on my sci-fi noir novel!
Here's a taste:

Sometimes I think the hardest thing about being a writer is watching "it was okay" movies and trying to love them for what they are instead of thinking up 5 far more interesting plots. And I'm totally not saying this after watching The Gorge 🤣

I was reading an old draft of my sci-fi noir novel today, and there are these sections where the dialogue gets a bit Jane Austen. I'd forgotten I was also writing an adaptation of an Austen novel at the time I wrote this! 🤣 Austen noir?
