Arrozales del Delta del Ebro plagados de caracol manzana. Se trata de una especie exótica invasora que produce graves daños en los arrozales, siendo muy difícil de erradicar.

La introducción de especies foráneas puede producir graves daños ambientales, sociales y económicos.

New paper out! Using sediment cores, we analyzed rotifer diapausing egg banks to track temporal variation in reproductive success. Populations with ⬆️ variation showed ⬇️ hatching fractions, supporting bet hedging.

whenever people get fatalistic about the ecological threats we're facing, i like to bring up some of these examples. we *can* do things that cause positive change! we have in the past! if we make the decisions to try and fix things, we can actually do it! we aren't in fact doomed until we give up!

We were just doing plant cover transects with first year Biology undergraduates but they were struck by the diversity of bugs that can play a role in pollination. There is nothing more mind-blowing than observing nature!!! Hooray for these young naturalists!
