I genuinely keep catching myself writing side characters that are way cooler and more interesting than the main character and it kills me every time

I genuinely keep catching myself writing side characters that are way cooler and more interesting than the main character and it kills me every time
Writers, what’s your plot concept process like? Here’s mine:
- Hear a song that sparks a scene in my head
- Come up with characters that suffer from one of my many character flaws
- Decide how they’re going to get to that scene
- Usually some sort of fighting occurs 😂

My red flag is that every time something dramatic happens in the first five mins of a movie I say “cut to credits” and think it’ll actually be funny every time
