Today for Black August I am recommending the iconic ASSATA by Assata Shakur which has sparked too many awakenings to count & certainly played a role in mine. Her experiences with incarceration make this very apropos to read in line with the aim of Black August.

Having been to several Irish pubs in New England, going to one here in the Philippines is quite interesting! It just opened a month ago.
The band was great, they played all kinds of boomer classics. The soup was decent. It's a shame they had nothing on tap, would've really added to the immersion
