A long-suffering Dolphins fan. A two-time game show contestant. An improv performer, stage actor, and vocalist. An unapologetic lover of puns. Also, a Democrat. #FinsUp
It's a great night for Democrats and democracy, and an opportunity to express gratitude for our poll workers. Having worked many elections in Florida, every person working the polls volunteers their time. They could be doing anything else, but they choose to support voters.

Thank you, poll workers!

If only the Dolphins made their throwbacks permanent.
Eagles offense looked the best it has all year in kelly green

Bo Nix played his best game of the year in the beautiful Broncos throwbacks

Bill's onto something here
Chargers lost in their horrific mustard jerseys
Steelers lost in their horrific throwback jerseys
Packers lost in their horrific throwback jerseys
Seahawks blowing out the Commanders wearing the best jerseys in football

Not a coincidence

As if the Dolphins losing in embarrassing fashion at home against the Ravens wasn't enough, YouTube TV added insult to injury: Disney programming will not be available as of tonight. No ABC. No ESPN. No Nat Geo. Nothing. Even my recordings from the Disney family of networks are gone. So frustrating.

Jack McCoy would have RFK, Jr. arraigned with an endless number of attempted murder charges and make sure the last thing he sees is the inside of a prison cell.

I was explaining to my Ukrainian colleague the phrase ‘There’s no such thing as a free lunch’. She told me the equivalent in Ukrainian is ‘The only free cheese is in the mousetrap’ - which is so much better

Investigative journalism is having itself quite a day today. Here are three incredible, must-read stories published and shared on Bluesky today. Feel free to choose your own adventure. 🧵

The first story comes from @propublica.org. Suffice it to say, we probably need better defense at DoD.
A Little-Known Microsoft Program Could Expose the Defense Department to Chinese Hackers
The Pentagon bans foreign citizens from accessing highly sensitive data, but Microsoft bypasses this by using engineers in China and elsewhere to remotely instruct American “escorts” who may lack expe...

It's never good to cut federal spending for disaster preparedness and recovery. The decision is made worse when hurricane season nears and professional forecasters say it'll likely be worse than average. We must hope for the best. Many Americans are still recovering and rebuilding from years past.

100 Republicans vs. 1 AOC. I'm placing bets on the latter to win. 😎
I like telling authoritarians where to shove it in multiple languages
The fact that there's an ASL interpreter there.... Thank you @aoc.bsky.social 🥹😍🤟🏼

The overall turnout of eligible voters in the 2024 General Election was 63.7%, and less than half (49.8% or 77,284,118 people) voted for the guy who would run the country as a business despite having multiple companies go bankrupt including a casino. How's that working out for everyone?
it really is astounding that a presidential administration crashed the growth trajectory of the wealthiest country on the planet in basically two months

Every so often, it just comes back to me in full force. The political and economic order that allowed this man to come to power is obviously no longer tenable. The leaders who let it happen obviously have to be replaced. This is an epoch defining failure and we have to turn the page completely.

I had the good fortune of being in the audience for this episode! John and the entire production team couldn't have been nicer people. My wife and I had a great time 😀

Republican members are running scared because they're being held accountable for their actions by the very people who voted for them. Rather than face the repercussions, they want to clear their calendars, ignore the phones, and avoid community centers. This is not leadership. This is cowardice.

Imagine you're struggling to open a jar of pickles when someone enters the room. They say, "I got it," and they open it—cool.

Now imagine the person smashing the jar onto the floor instead. That's what this administration is doing. They're not being helpful; instead, they choose to be evil fuckers.

I am as equally qualified for federal appointments as those facing Senate committees. If there's one thing that gives me an edge over all of them, it is that I'm not a heartless, selfish misanthrope. Genuinely caring about others, especially those you'll never know or meet, should be a prerequisite.

There are oligarchs and demagogues illegally dismantling the very government that allowed them to (regrettably) become who they are. They're willing to metaphorically burn it down so that you and I have no infrastructure, support, identity, or protections. To them, we're nothing more than a virus.

Hey, @bsky.app! 👋 Thank you for making the Internet a better place.

I'm sure you've received this suggestion along the way, but it would be wonderful if I didn't see the same post appear multiple times on my Following feed because more than one account reposts it. I hope this can be fixed. Thanks 🙂

For years, I was part of a popular Tesla podcast. I read the early tea leaves with Elon Musk and shared my concerns with our audience. I was in the vocal minority but had seen his true colors before most. Yet, I never thought he'd threaten global democracy and humanity. What is Congress waiting for?

This is a fascinating conversation between @chrislhayes.bsky.social and @pablo.show (love these guys) about the value of our attention. The part about PTI's influence on modern programming was an "aha!" moment.

Buy "The Sirens' Call" wherever you get your books or ask your local library for copies.
I found myself repeatedly underlining the new book from @chrislhayes.bsky.social.

So we met up to discuss spam, SNL, Dominion vs. Fox, the MSM, Blaise Pascal, Rick Pitino, the Cocktail Party Effect, mentions, HammerKing75, Neil Postman, piglets, and a Socrates hot take 👀 youtu.be/N2VvOTAoywU?...
