Here is a blog of Picturebooks about loss. Some of these have been really useful in talking with children about a truly difficult subject. Giving them the space to express how they are feeling. There isn’t one way to feel. Will add more soon. PicturebookPage smithsmm.wordpress.com/2020/05/03/t...

Something is really bothering me with CPD. During my training in the 90s and for the first few yrs of my career, there was a sharp focus on understanding child development. This has all but disappeared from the CPD landscape.

Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people.

Good trade.

This is forward thinking and helping to support staff during a financially difficult time. I was surprised nearly 20 years ago at how poor maternity pay was and it hasn’t changed since then. Really great work from all involved in this and hopefully it will encourage others. @jonnyuttley.bsky.social
At TEAL have recently been looking at what schools typically offer in terms of maternity or family leave benefits. I am delighted that today we have officially launched a significantly enhanced package of support, which we will apply for all leave that commenced from 1 September 2024.
