My book is 99p on Kindle at the moment, if that’s the kind of thing that feeds your cat.

Even I’m sometimes reluctant to watch or read things I recommend, but I watched this film, Hundreds of Beavers, last night and I thought it was great.

This evening I read 'Saltwater Mansions: The Woman Who Disappeared and Other Untold Stories' by David Whitehouse. While the mystery of the woman who vanished initially intrigues you, it's the other stories of other people's lives that engross you to the end. 📚 #BookSky #SkyBook

At just under 200 pages, Saltwater Mansions is the perfect short holiday read. It’s a story about memory, the stories we tell, and a woman’s disappearance. 10/10. #Books #BookSky #NonFiction

The story that became Saltwater Mansions was told to David while he was in the chair at his local hairdressers. Once again, us follicly challenged authors looking for book ideas are at a distinct and unfair disadvantage. #oppressed

Saltwater Mansions: The woman who disappeared and other untold stories is in Margate during the 2010s, unfolds against the backdrop of the town’s ongoing gentrification. It’s also a moving memoir of Whitehouse’s father and his working-class upbringing in the Midlands.

An investigation into the missing occupant of a Margate flat turns into a rumination on the many ways people can disappear from places, and how places change and themselves effectively disappear, and how these things go hand in hand with the various movements of grief. Utterly superb, essential read

I really enjoyed Saltwater Mansions and made me think a lot about how where we are at (in life) and what we are experiencing or mourning impacts how we digest stories and life.
Was not what I was expecting, and grateful for that.
David is an incredible writer.
