Good morning, Blue Sky! If you missed it yesterday, here's this week's entry in my ongoing alphabetical series. Go check out some knives and daggers and shivs and assorted jagged metal objects!
This week's new Blogging A-Z post is now live!

πŸ”‘ K is For Knife - with four illustrated daggers for your B/X or AD&D game! Three are enchanted weapons of legend, one is simply treasure. I had fun making these, so I hope you enjoy them. 😊

Perhaps a batch of daggers would go over well at this point in the challenge, eh? Steyg Though its true origin is lost to the sands of time, there are some who say this knife was made for the first ki...

The cap's interior remained stained after the overnight inverted isopropyl bath and scrubbing with 3 kinds of brush and a paper towel today, so I think for its part it is just stained.

I will leave it inverted & pressurized to try to loosen any remaining particles clinging to the bulb's interior.

... Depressurized and launched filaments and fragments of blue pigment into the isopropyl, as you might have noticed in the first pic. See below for more:

Morning news: I left the bulbs pressurized overnight with the bottles wholly inverted so the isopropyl would rest on the inside of the cap.

The red bulb depressurized without incident and the cap could not be cleaned any further. Just very fine remnant stains, I think.

The blue bulb...

Speaking of Savage Dragon and Maxx, look what I grabbed for $6 at a little craft market last weekend:

Whatever your mood - old school terrible dubbing classics like Shaw Bros films, 80s nostalgia, 90s HK crime action, or 00s blockbusters - there's a good match somewhere on this list! Hope it helps 😊

I grew up watching all the old martial arts movies, then as a teenager it was revitalized as my best friend was a huge movie nerd & martial arts dork. We just rented every movie Rogers Video had. I grew up in a 75% Chinese city & would get bootlegs of every new HK release at the night market or RPM.

And past that you have the Donnie Yen films (Ip Man 1 and 2, SPL) and Jet Li films (Hero, Fist of Legend, Once Upon a Time in China 1 and 2, The Warlords, Unleashed RIP Bob Hoskins, Kiss of the Dragon).

Dont sleep on Andy Lau in Infernal Affairs, House of Flying Daggers, Full-Time Killer either...

For latter martial arts explosion, you gotta get your dose of Jean Claude Van Damme (Bloodsport, Hard Target, No Retreat No Surrender, Kickboxer...) Jackie Chan (Who Am I, Drunken Master 1 and 2, Rumble in the Bronx, Police Story 1 and 2

For old-school kung Chinese style you need Enter the Dragon, Five Deadly Venoms, Master Killer, Shaolin and Wu Tang (but as a Wu Tang Clan fan I am biased) 3 Evil Masters, Ten Tigers from Kwanvtung.

For old-school Japanese, Shogun Assassin, Lone Wolf & Cub series.

I feel ya. I have an already short attn span that is worsened lately by insomnia and boy oh boy is it crushing my ability to focus on a damn thing.

These things are temporary, I guess. Sucks when they're in full swing tho.

Hope you regain your flow soon, homeslice!

I'm not going to say that you MUST boycott everything from Hasbro or Wizards while they're partnered with Harry Potter and weird AI bullshit is creeping through the company, I'm just saying that doing so is cool and sexy.

One last fun bit: this image doesn't do it justice, but when the red was opened for cleaning, the pigmented isopropyl dripped out onto the paper towel and was an absolutely eye-searing nuclear neon peach color.

It has since settled into day glow pink.

Very weird!

At this point I am inverting the bottles, refilled with isopropyl, to sit in the caps again in hopes of getting the very last of the blue pigment if there is any remaining - or verify it's just stains, not active ink pigment that might interfere with ink when repurposed.
February 12, 2026 at 2:54 AM
The lids were the most work to scrub down real good. The red came fully clean. The blue pigment turned out to be much more pernicious and stained the fringes of the plastic. I don't think there's very much active pigment left there, though...
February 12, 2026 at 2:54 AM
A little while later, the isopropyl that has been sitting in there was rinsed out and the insides and threads of the inkpots were scrubbed clean. Here they are, clean as a whistle.

The project continues with great results, even if I am not the best at documenting a before and after!

When I got home I began flushing the eyedroppers repeatedly to get all the bits of crusted ink out of the bulbs. It was crazy how much kept coming out! Sadly I didn't record any of that process.
