We went to Zine Fest Houston this weekend and it was POPPIN. Apparently over 1600 in attendance for the nearly 200 vendors, and I believe that, because the place was mobbed the whole time we were there. It was an outdoor(ish) venue with plenty of space in the structure and still it was deep, man.

Heavy Metal magazine from May of 1982 was filled with legitimate masterpieces of the medium. Every big name you can imagine was in that issue and some of the comics have a level of detail, vision, and ambition that is pretty much unseen otherwise. Incredible stuff.

Reminds me of Mole's Christmas, one of my favorite Christmas specials growing up. Per my wife, I understand this may not have made it down to the US much, but it was an annual tradition in Canada and I presume the rest of the Commonwealth. I love Wind in the Willows! 😊
