For Blue Monday we can't think of anything more appropriate than this charming depiction of a man getting his face eaten off by a leopard.

The pursuit of gender equity means finding ways to lift ALL genders up, not just the temporarily convenient one.

The group we leave behind will become an anchor none of us want.

Mars Inc, a candy company that perfected the art of branding the same bad chocolate bar 3 different ways (Snickers, Milky Way and 3 Musketeers), brought that same marketing swindle into veterinary medicine (Banfield, VCA, Bluepearl).

It's all pretty gross.

It's extremely likely you aren't as good at recognizing your senior pet's arthritis as you think you are.

This is a great 4 part series from the folks at @speciesunite.bsky.social addressing our food supply. I'm just catching up now but looking forward to listening about our meat packing industry.

Spoiler alert: the internet.

That's it. That's the spoiler. For all of life's wonders meant to be experienced first hand, instead we get a shitty digital versions of it that ruin the surprise.

I'm gonna play my old man card and declare that life was better before it got "smart."

Remember the first time someone pointed out to you that you don't get bugs on your windshield anymore and the ominous feeling in the pit of your stomach at what it all meant?

Go outside and try to count the birds.

As the Earth's crust began to cool and life's chemical reaction was just beginning, who was that first unicellular organism that looked at its brethren and decided working in harmony to harvest resources was less desirable than just eating its own?

Seriously, screw that guy.

Vetmed is framed these days as a figurative pit fight between the James Herriots and the Jamie Dimons - in other words, the people attempting to catheterize your pet vs those attempting to catheterize your wallet.

This conversation reminds me of when my Fox News watching dad first learned about pronoun usage to his utter bafflement. And in response, I took to calling him "Mr." for the better part of the year despite him being an MD.

Doesn't say doctor on your birth certificate, dad. 🤷‍♂️
Hey #medsky,

Has anyone had a patient who *insisted* on using first names instead of "Dr so-and-so?" Even when I said I preferred the latter, he (very pleasantly) insisted. I had heard this was coming from others and covered up my nametag. It was a boundary issue for me.

Any politician, Republican or Democrat, that switches parties after getting elected should be able to be recalled immediately by the people that voted for them. Liberal voters are putting far too many politicians in office who immediately switch to Republican.

Another outstanding article from @helenbranswell.bsky.social

I laud her clarity on #1: “having this virus circulating in dairy cows is like allowing Mother Nature to keep throwing dice at a craps table. The house normally wins. But it doesn’t always.”

And very much share her fear of #3 … 🛟🩺🧪

At the top of my 2025 wish list is to see conservatives set their Cybertrucks on fire just like they did to their Keurigs in protest of President Musk going to war with them. I'm tired of getting stuck behind them in carwashes.

People keep killing their cats with raw milk and now "raw cat food." Your cat doesn't want raw cat food. She wants Fancy Feast Chicken Feast In Gravy. It tastes like fucking filet mignon to them. Don't kill the only good thing in your life because you saw Jordan Peterson's diet on YouTube once.
