Up Down! An Dún Abú!

24/7 carer for my elderly parents. That's it.

Once knew techie stuff. Feels like all that is lost in the mists of time! Was an electronic engineer & academic in my past life. Just glad I still remember how to turn my laptop on! 🤣

These can help you:
▪️ Access support
▪️ Juggle care and work

Do pickles go on beef? I was going to have a jambon beurre, but I think I should use the beef before I open the ham.... What about cheese (just cheddar)? Does that go with beef?

There are literally dozens of landmark cases where Brits relied on the ECHR:

⚠️Gay soldiers
⚠️Children beaten in schools
⚠️Women punished for fleeing domestic abuse
⚠️Journalists fined for protecting sources
⚠️Activists sued by McDonald

All defended by the ECHR when Britain failed them.

Don't get me started! *growl* I voted for the Good Friday Agreement. Not in a million years would I vote for that *add your own 'noun'*
Farage thinks he can rip up the Good Friday Agreement just because he doesn’t like human rights & the ECHR.

Newsflash: peace in Northern Ireland isn’t a toy for wannabe strongmen.
It isn’t his to bargain with.

Tear up human rights, tear up peace - is that really his big idea?

If the UK left the ECHR, we wouldn’t just lose workplace rights like pensions, minimum wage, holiday & sick pay. We’d also lose fundamental protections that cut across everyday life.

We’d lose the right to privacy from government surveillance.

No, we are not going to rip up and 'renegotiate' the Good Friday Agreement nor leave the ECHR. *growl* Don't f*** us up again. What an idiot.

Was doing some shopping in our Eurospar. Guy next to me, as he was leaving (the self checkouts), said to me "I love your bag". It was one of the old Tesco Star Wars bags 😁 They are also the perfect dimensions. We had a nice, brief, chat. It was very nice indeed. I needed a bit of cheering up.

Some thoughts on the news that 48% of those arrested over Belfast race riots had been reported to police for domestic violence. With McGr*g*r losing his appeal & definitively found to be a rapist in a court of law it is important we call out the hypocrisy at the heart of the far right movement.

Furthest I've been:

N: Santa Claus Village, Finland
S: Bluff, New Zealand
E: Tikitki, New Zealand or there abouts.
W: Kicking Horse, Canada

Did roadtrip in NZ. If there was something resembling a road/track, I probably drove down it. Was nearly crushed by a tank as it came round a blind corner!
