They are beating people who maybe once had a broken taillight and sending them to foreign slave prisons while freeing the worst fraudsters and every corrupt pol. The juxtaposition is so stark and appalling.
NEW: The commutation Trump issued to David Gentile wipes away all further fines & restitution.

Gentile had been sentenced to 7 years for his role in a $1.6B scheme that defrauded thousands of investors.

Prosecutors had been seeking $15.5M in forfeiture.

Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents.

They’ve had their necks kneeled on.

They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear.

At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them.

The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

TL;DR Republicans are lying about the shutdown. 🚨

Undocumented immigrants have been barred from fed health care subsidies since 1996.

The fight is over DACA recipients, refugees & temporary protected status holders. GOP bill blocks them; Dem bill restores access + Medicaid funding.
GOP misleads with claim that Democrats shut down to give health care to 'illegal immigrants'
U.S. law prohibits federal health care benefits for undocumented immigrants. Democrats want to return benefits for those with lawful presence, like DACA recipients and asylum-seekers.

This sounds illegal. You would need a judicial warrant and they certainly wouldn’t have had one for the US citizen. Who will hold them to account?
My god.

3) Unwarranted detentions were on private property.
4) He showed Real ID both times.

This is what happens when you have quotas and inherently believe certain people don’t ‘belong’. You don’t care people have to constantly have papers on them and prove themselves over and over-a second class of citizenry. No one is holding them accountable. No one is making them stop.
U.S. citizens, many of them Latino men, have been stopped and in some cases taken into custody by law enforcement officers who are carrying out President Trump’s immigration crackdown.
