Book has come back from the editor. Apparently it's "great" and "fascinating".

I am a little chuffed and a lot relieved. 😛

Bluesky academics, lets get to know each other! Quote this & tell me: 1) a project you are working on & 2) an odd idea/theory you aren’t working on but keep thinking about.
1) Vampires in interactive media (video games, board games, ttrpgs, larping)
2) 19C values and their influence on games

The challenge is to choose 20 games that greatly influenced you. One game per day, for 20 days. No explanations, no reviews, no particular order.

Best aside to a band:

*In the Jailhouse Now fellas. Neighbourhood of B".
We need more music where the singer says "take 'em for a walk, Artie" and then a guy with a clarinet just goes nuts for like 8 minutes

I don't know if there is a game that uses stillness and quiet like Ghosts of Tsushima does.

One lesson that I think can be taken from the election is that progressive politics needs to do more to show it is reaching out for expertise.

Whatever you think of Musk (and if you're here it's probably not much) he did create the illusion of a GOP that's looking outside the political sphere 1/n

Feel immensely privileged to be part of this collection- of which I was fortunate enough to contribute about Jack the Ripper, Board Games themed around the East End and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

AMA

I work in Historical reconstruction- particularly Neo-Victorianism and implementations in the interactive space such as Board, video and tabletop games.

I am interested to see how games can challenge assumptions in historical and literary narratives.

ATM my hyperfixation is vampires in games.
okay, time for a prompt post to distract us all from the horrors. quote this post with your areas of expertise, interest, hyperfixation and/or obsession and invite your audience to ask you questions about them.

There will be much temptation to throw around blame for Tuesday's result.

Here's the thing though- much as some may not want to hear it, the Democrat campaign believed that it was politically expedient to overtly ignore the traumatic concerns of some groups.

Don't blame the unheard for this.
