"Thinking time —the time needed to concentrate without interruptions has always been central to scholarly work. It is essential to designing experiments, compiling data, assessing results, reviewing literature and, of course, writing. Yet, [it] is often undervalued."

“At 3C of global heating, climate damage cannot be insured against, covered by governments, or adapted to. That means no more mortgages or new real estate devt, no long-term investment, no financial stability. The financial sector as we know it ceases to function and capitalism ceases to be viable.”

One of my biggest peeves. My memory can last longer than a few months Wild. I know you're shrinking your deodorant refills.
My recent consumer experience has been:
1. Discover product you actually like (a rare occurrence).
2. Use it.
3. Buy it again and find out its quality has been greatly reduced.

This applies to just about everything.

Forever chemicals (PFAS), implicated for many adverse health outcomes, don't have to be forever. They can even be broken down to do something good!

Thought provoking article
So much science is being deleted & forgotten. It's time for drastic action.

We need a scientific 2-pager because:
- Length≄Credibility
- Strengthening peer review > Removing it
- The academic article is outdated

Let’s publish our research before it’s too late.

In a time of Trump, we need to rethink the academic paper
The past few weeks have made one thing painfully clear: science is under attack and the integrity of science itself is on the line.

'In 20 years there will be no bioinformatics; it will just be called biology’ - Charles DeLisi (my PhD advisor, as quoted in my thesis). That was 22 years ago, and I think he was right. Grad students and postdocs in particular know they need to be computational now too.
