I know it's probably confirmation bias, but I swear I can recognise LLSM data on sight.
Continuing our speed theme at #InsightFromImaging, we spent the afternoon at the microscope exploring imaging speed, as well as tradeoffs in imaging scale. Video featuring imaging of neutrophil-like HL60 cells on a widefield vs the AIC's LLSM.

I feel so grown-up using try/except and actually catching errors and dealing with them. Of course my solution causes another error. It's errors all the way down.

My youngest got sent home from school because he was "feeling unwell". I'm working from home today and now he's here. I wonder if I can convince him annotate a cellpose model for me....

I wish, just ONE time, that I could install cuda, cudnn, and pytorch, without it taking me 15 attempts and core dumps

Hard not to feel old when things I owned are in literal museum displays. I played the original on a Mac classic after school while my Mum was in staff meetings. I honestly believe that it is at least partially the reason I ended up where I am today - but that's a long story.

Ok nothing got more responses than a targeted email to a core facility's user list. If you work in a microscopy core I'd love it if you could advertise this to your users. There's a blog-post with info too ausbias.org/blog/2025/10...
