As a Black woman physician I do not have the luxury that my counterparts have of moving seamlessly from formal to informal roles without negative consequences...thus my first name is ALWAYS “Doctor” @drjunejd.bsky.social

Valuing human judgement
"A.I. excels at pattern recognition, code generation and the synthesis of large volumes of text and data. But someone still has to decide whether an analysis is trustworthy, what implications it carries and whether acting on it would be wise."

I'm so sad to hear that Dr Bill Foege passed away yesterday

He was a legend in global health and worked so hard to eradicate smallpox

More importantly, he was kind, compassionate and understood the true mission of public health

Participated in a great presentation/discussion on “physician burnout” on Friday 1/9th at MCW. A stark reminder that the call to “self-care” is enduring.
Before we can care for others we MUST care for ourselves @drjunejd.bsky.social
