Back home from #RSNA24 - lots of exciting info on the future of radiology & AI.
Well organized conference- appreciate the video recordings-I’m watching sessions right now that I couldn’t get to & earning CME. I Highly recommend the virtual option -even if you attend in person! @rsnasky.bsky.social

Hugest congratulations on a really superb meeting! Kate is always the one I look at wondering how on earth she does it all, but this takes the biscuit for crazy achievement 🍪 🙌 🎉
With the close of #RSNA24 and my first year as program chair, I am incredibly grateful for the entire annual meeting program planning committee and the wonderful @rsnasky.bsky.social staff who make it all happen! It’s been a lot of work and a lot of learning but even more fun 🙌🏻

Standing room only to hear Dr. Resnick give a primer on #MSK #radiographs! And it’s Thursday morning!

#Radres at #RSNA24 - this is a great lecture to watch on the app. Great foundation for R1s and reminders for R4s

I only attended #RSNA24 virtually this year, unfortunately, but it's still an excellent meeting. I learned so much, revised a ton, worried about what I reported before these reminders, and very much enjoyed seeing more sessions on communications, error, Human Factors and human beings.

I suggested the Human Factors course to @katehanneman.bsky.social at a Professionalism Committee meeting a few years ago, and she thought it was interesting enough to sponsor for the meeting. I invited Niall for our first run of it in 2022, so it's fantastic to see it continue and change outlooks!
In Chicago today sharing the same message with my friends at the @rsnasky.bsky.social

Thanks to @katehanneman.bsky.social for inviting me back.

Acknowledging our fallibility and designing our systems to allow for that will transform healthcare as it did aviation.

Also good reminder re size alone not being everything - hormonal influences change symptoms in women (for once, menopause actually makes things better).

Kind of regretting not buying one last year. Suppose virtual attendance does reduce this specific type of shopping, which is something!
I formally apologize to my wife for buying another mug… but I just had to get this vertebral body mug as a future neurorad! #RSNA24

Forget AI, this is what we need to work on! Priorities.
Thanks @rsnasky.bsky.social it was fantastic as ever!

But I really should have asked the #Physics experts in attendance for help

If a #Radiology doc arrives to #RSNA24 with a completely full suitcase then buys boots & 5 sweaters, how can it all fit in the same bag?

Mine was last year too! He took maybe 30 seconds, but can't really complain...considering what he was dealing with. Hardly a model. Highly recommend.
Tip for #RSNA24 attendees: get an updated professional headshot taken for free, in recruiter’s row in the south exhibit hall. My profile pic is from last year.

What does environmental sustainability have to do with radiology? ❓

🏥 Healthcare accounts for 5% of global carbon pollution—and radiology makes up a staggering 1/5th of that 🩻

(✈️ For perspective, aviation contributes ~2% globally.)

🗑️ ~2/3 of the energy used by CT and 1/3 by MRI scanners is wasted

Great plenary session from @erictopol.bsky.social on "AI's Transformation of Medicine". I'm kind of terrified of what horrors it might predict from my ECG/EKG, and it seems to be getting a bit too good at my job, but I do like the idea of it taking away some of the busy work... #RSNA24 #AI #RadSky
