Reducing Nitrogen Inputs Can Rapidly Reverse Eutrophication in Shallow Phosphorus-Rich Lakes
Although phosphorus (P) has been the primary focus of lake eutrophication management efforts globally, we show that reducing nitrogen (N) inputs to shallow P-rich lakes can rapidly reverse accelerated...

The people whipping up panics about "academic freedom" rarely speak up when academic freedom is actually imperiled.

This is absolutely chilling.
Texas A&M’s President just removed a dean and department head from their positions after they supported a professor whose lesson on gender was challenged by a student. www.kbtx.com/2025/09/09/a...

Had a blast presenting LTRM data to the public, students, and other managers today. Really fun to tell the story of Pool 8! Also learned a ton about fish movement, especially in high water conditions.

This week began our 2-week winter #waterquality monitoring season. We're thankful for our partners at the Chautauqua National Wildlife Refuge and use of their airboat while ours is in the shop. Ice thickness on Tuesday was still around 8 inches in most places, though quickly thawing. #UMRR

Attention all limnologists! We recently published a paper where we tracked changes in study duration of lakes and reservoirs through time. There are plenty short-duration papers. But long term studies are getting longer!
