A belated update on the Guzzi T3 project. I replaced the existing barrels and pistons with new 850cc Gilardioni items from MG Cycle. Everything's back together, though one oil feed banjo decided to break with minimum effort, so new banjos are on order. Meanwhile, I'm starting on the tank and seat.

Okay hive mind. The first hiccup on the T3 project is where the exhaust downpipe meets the crossover H pipe. I got the right side free but the left side is somewhat seized. I've soaked the joint with WD40 and also hit it with some heat, but can't get it to budge. Any suggestions?

When I opened the cylinders, I found that the right side bore had some chrome liner missing. That’s when this became a real project requiring full commitment. So I have on order a couple of new barrels and pistons, and over this winter will work my way through the rest of the bike. More to follow.

I’m embarking on a journey and thought I’d share it. I have an old 1977 Moto Guzzi T3 that I bought to work on to stop me getting bored after I retired. I rode it locally last year until it decided to stop running on one cylinder, at which point I saved it for a winter project strip down and exam.

Walking the dog this morning, we happened upon a herd of Elk, about twenty strong. We gave the Elk their space, and they gave us room to walk by. Cooperation between species. Then a neighbor, who's too lazy to walk their dog, released it to run at the herd. Happy new year.
