The 38th Grey Cup in 1950 was known as The Mud Bowl.
Heavy snow melted on Toronto's Varsity Field, and it rained during the game. The field was described as "a pig's wallow". The field's poor condition led to the Grey Cup venue shifting among cities.
Toronto won the game 13-0.

So let me set the scene at a Grey Cup for my American followers. Imagine Giants, Commanders, Cowboys, Eagles, Bears, Packers, Vikings, Lions, and Seahawks fans all mingling and partying together for four days in one of the teams’ cities, and then the play the Super Bowl on day 5 between them.

Montreal led with three minutes left when Chuck Hunsinger fumbled the ball. It was picked up by Edmonton's Jackie Parker who ran it 90 yards for the game-winning touchdown.
Edmonton won 26-25.

Played in Montreal on Nov. 27, 1977 between Montreal and Edmonton, the field was a sheet of ice leading to many fumbles. The Alouettes affixed staples to the bottom of their sneakers for traction and won 41-6.
