Hanging this left vs. center-left abundance debate on elevator standards is funny because the actual people in the US elevator industry writing and defending the US standard have no clue what a YIMBY is (nevermind an “Ezra Klein”), and mostly voted for Trump resnikoff.beehiiv.com/p/the-abunda...

The red line is how much of each dollar of income Americans spend on housing compared to 1980.

The blue line is how much housing Americans actually get per dollar.

I just shipped out a $12k piece of equipment using FedEx and the insurance was like $250. Assuming 50% gross profit plus operating costs it would mean their expected loss rate is around 1% 😬😬😬

In Piedmont the big story is a fatal Tesla cybertruck crash. The details of the crash are unknown, but it immediately caught fire. Someone was able to rescue a passenger but the other 4 burned to death. The doors malfunctioned and the glass was too strong for the firefighters to rescue them.

An unforseen occurrence happened this evening;I got really excited to listen to Rush music videos tonight but my husband can't stand to listen to rock music tonight 😭😭😭

Compromise often leads to greater pleasure. But still, I want my young Geddy Lee tonight!

This pitcher at my grandma's memory care facility is full of delicious lemon water, but it quickly gets plugged by a lemon slice so you never get much. It's like a palate cleanser!

We had a little deck rehab job where the previous contractor's waterproof membrane under the tile failed. Our sub who did the demo fucked up and cut the drainage mat too close to the tile and they may have damaged the new membrane. Our foreman was there and knew the specs and still directed wrong!
